The waiting game

No real news to report here. Just waiting for tomorrow.

For anyone wondering how the meeting with the donor went, I plan to post on that sometime soon. The quick headline is that she really is a lovely person and I am so glad we were able to speak with her.

So for now, we wait. Wait until 2:15 tomorrow when our donor is undergoing her retrieval. Wait to hear about the fertilization report on Friday. And wait to hear if any of the embryos will make it to transfer on Sunday.

I've waited 35 years to become a mom, so I guess I can wait a little more.

The waiting is the hardest part I think - I am actually more at peace than I have been for several days (although I HOPE your waiting brings you a whole different result!!!) Can't wait to hear about the retrieval. 3m

Here from Mel's bar too and thinking of you. My little one has the most beautiful eyes (in my humble opinion) and yet they didn't come from me - they look just like her egg donor.

I have had many tears in losing that genetic connection and sometimes I am sad she doesn't have my eyes too. Still, she has HER eyes.

So glad the meeting with the donor went well. I can only imagine how anxious you must be awaiting retrieval and fert rates!

Oh, and I wanted to add that my brother's eyes are blue--my mom's are dark brown and my dad's were hazel. And sadly, he is definitely my full-blooded brother (although I wished otherwise while we grew up).

(I have hazel eyes and my oldest brother has hazel.)
